On 23/24 March 2016 Rehana joined a group of individuals and organizations at EarthRising Lodge in the Eastern Free State. This transformed space built on the ruins of Rustler’s Valley is home to a unique initiative. The EarthRising Trust has donated 2 hectares of land to the Naledi villagers to farm on. The lodge has been rebuilt with the efforts of the villagers and the lodge manager and staff come from the village. The space that has been created is truly a sacred one with opportunities for inter-generational conversations, reflection and authentic connection. The gathering saw a committed group of individuals discussing the possibility of Scaling up organic agriculture. For Rehana the conversations and interaction reaffirmed the commitment to a more sustainable way of being and the central linkage of the food system to all aspects of human life
