The GCRO Strategic Planning Process

The GCRO Strategic Planning Process session, held at Wits Club, builds on the initial strategic review from November 2023. Its goal is to refine the organization’s direction by reflecting on key takeaways, deepening the understanding of the research agenda, and ensuring organizational alignment across nine thematic areas.

Key activities include discussions on contextual realities, thematic focus areas like inclusive economies and spatial transformation, and exploring structural needs for effective implementation. The session culminates in the signing of a Team Charter, committing all members to the shared vision and next steps for the future. This process aims to solidify GCRO's strategic focus and ensure collective ownership of its work.
